Ringwall Kleiner Hubberg

The ring wall Kleiner Hubberg , also called Wallburg Götzendorf , is located in the district Kotzheim of the Upper Palatinate municipality Ursensollen in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria . The ring wall is located approx. 550 m east of Kotzheim on the top of the Kleiner Hubberg. The property is managed by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments under monument number D-3-6536-0111 as a “ring wall of prehistoric times”.

description

The rocky summit of the Hubberg falls on the southeast side with steep rocks and also otherwise with steep slopes. The oblong, triangular, rock-covered hilltop area measures 60 × 30 m and is surrounded by a wall. On the steepest side in the southeast, this can only be seen as an artificial edge between larger boulders, but on the other sides as a 6 to 9 m wide and 0.6 m high stone wall with pronounced corners. On the northwest side, a 3 m wide gap marks the place of a gate. So far, fragments of a millstone have been found that are kept in the Amberg Museum.
