Cape Collier is a massive and icy cape on the Wilkins Coast of Palmerland , halfway between the southern end of Hearst Island and Cape Boggs .
It was discovered in 1940 by scientists from the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941), who explored the coast directly on site and by flights from the East Base on Stonington Island . The cape is named after Zadick Collier (1898–1987), a Honduran machinist on the East Base .
