The Cape Cross Fire is the southeastern foothills of Malta Plateau in the Victory Mountains in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . The headland is located at the confluence of the Mariner Glacier in the west with the Borchgrevink Glacier coming from the north, before its separate confluence with the Ross Sea .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee played with his appointment in 1966 to the clash of ice streams from different directions like a crossfire ( English crossfire on).
