The Cape Dayman is a chapter on the Pennell Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . On the north side of Tapsell Foreland , it marks the south side of the entrance to Yule Bay .
The British polar explorer James Clark Ross discovered it in 1841 during his Antarctic expedition (1839–1843). Ross named the cape after Joseph Dayman (1818–1868), mate on the expedition ship HMS Erebus on this research trip .
