Cape Goodenough is an icy cape on the Banzare coast of Wilkesland East Antarctica . As the northern branch of the Norths Highland , it marks the western boundary of the entrance to Porpoise Bay .
The cape was discovered during the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929–1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . Mawson named it after Admiral William Edmund Goodenough (1867-1945) of the Royal Navy , president of the council of the Royal Geographical Society from 1930 to 1933.
