Chapel of the Sacrifice of Mary (Amerlügen)
The Roman Catholic Chapel of the Sacrifice of Mary ( 762 m above sea level ) is located in the Amerlügen part of the market town of Frastanz in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . It is consecrated to Our Lady and belongs to the parish church of Frastanz and thus to the dean's office of Feldkirch in the diocese of Feldkirch . The building from 1819 is a listed building .
history
In front of today's chapel there was a wayside shrine from 1736. In 1819 the current building was erected. The chapel was restored in 1928 and two new bells were raised.
Church building
- Exterior description
It is a building with a rectangular basic shape with 8.40 × 6.60 m and south-east / north-west orientation. To the northwest (altar) the outer walls are sloping. The simple wooden door and the shingled bell ridge on the gable roof with an octagonal gable- pointed helmet are to the northwest. On the right side (northeast) there is an attached sacristy .
- Inside description
The prayer room is equipped with several windows and has a flat ceiling and a retracted choir wall. The chapel offers space for around 60 to 70 believers.
Furnishing
The interior of the chapel is simple. There is a two-column high altar with a picture of Mary's temple passage from around 1820. On the left wall of the choir arch there is a statue of St. Joseph with baby Jesus by a sculptor from Ortisei in Val Gardena (around the beginning of the 20th century, possibly by the sculptor Ferdinand Stuflesser). On the right wall of the choir arch there is a statue of St. Anthony from around the 19th century.
