Nordhemmern chapel
The Nordhemmern chapel in the village of Nordhemmern in the Hille community is a chapel of the Hartum-Holzhausen Protestant parish , which belongs to the Minden parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia .
Building history and architecture
The building history of the chapel is unknown. Albert Ludorff suspected a Renaissance building in 1902 , today it is assumed that the chapel was built in the 13th century .
The chapel is a hall building with inside round, outside three-sided final . In the ship is a wooden ceiling, the beam heads resting outside on consoles. Two-part, rectangular windows are installed on the south side, and simple slit windows on the north and the choir . There is a flat arched entrance on the north side . The west tower is equipped with a barrel vault .
Furnishing
The oldest art object preserved in the church is a six-armed bronze chandelier from the Renaissance .
