The listed Vöslesrieth Chapel is located in the Vöslesrieth district of the Upper Palatinate town of Pleystein . It belongs to the " Parish Pleystein" and is dedicated to the Patronage of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary .

history

A chapel in Vöslesrieth (formerly Feselrieth ) is attested by 1845 at the latest; at that time Vöslesrieth belonged to the parish of Altenstadt near Vohenstrauss . The dead also had to be brought to Altenstadt for burial; the "Path of the Dead" still reminds of this today. The parish to Pleystein took place on February 4, 1848. Politically, Vöslesrieth was still part of Miesbrunn at that time, but came to the city of Pleystein during the municipal reform in 1972.

The old Vöslesriether chapel was demolished in the course of road construction in 1966 and about 100 m from a new building was listed, the July 2, 1967 the feast of the Visitation , by the Pleysteiner pastor Andreas Pfeiffer consecrated was. The church was renovated in 2012/13 by the residents themselves. In 2017 the 50th anniversary of the new local chapel was celebrated.

Structure

The small chapel has a square roof turret with four sound openings , which is covered with a pointed helmet . A gold-plated cross is attached to the top of the tower.

Interior design

Heritage is only the chapel facilities, including in the apse two angels a crucifix , is located right on the dividing wall to the choir a colored aggregate baroque madonna , left on the wall is a statue of St. Wendelin attached. Both are attributed to the 18th century. The figures of angels and saints originally come from the high altar of the old Pleystein parish church that burned down in 1901 . The church has a tower bell with an electric bell.
