Bas Princen

Bas Princen (* 1975 in Zeeland , Kingdom of the Netherlands ) is a Dutch artist and photographer .

Life

Princen studied product design at the Design Academy Eindhoven until 1998 and architecture at the Postgraduate Laboratory for Architecture at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam until 2002 .

His photographic focus is on architecture and landscape. He researches the connections, interfaces and transformation of the natural environment and urban landscapes.

Bas Princen described his work in a lecture as follows: “My work originates from architecture [...]. Then it has something to do with photography and it kind of ends up in the art world. But I'm never sure where exactly it fits. " (Eng .: " My work comes from architecture [...]. Then it has something to do with photography and somehow ends up in the art world. Princen lives and works in Zurich and Rotterdam.
