Kapfham is a district of the municipality of Fürstenstein in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .

location

Kapfham is located in the Abteiland about three kilometers southeast of Fürstenstein and about two kilometers northwest of Neukirchen vorm Wald .

history

Chapfhaim was part of the founding equipment of Osterhofen Monastery shortly after the year 1000. In 1438 Andre Schwarzensteiner zu Englburg , keeper of Vilshofen , bought goods from Kapfhaim , among others . After the destruction of the county of Hals in the 16th century, it remained with the rule of Fürstenstein. The church, built in 1726, was plundered by the Hungarians on June 27, 1742 during the War of the Austrian Succession . In 1752 the place consisted of three, in 1855 of five properties.

After the reign of Fürstenstein was converted into a patrimonial court in 1812/1813, Kapfham was subject to its jurisdiction until the jurisdiction was withdrawn by a ministerial resolution of July 21, 1836.

Attractions

  • Filial church of St. Laurentius. It was built in 1726 in baroque style and consecrated in 1735 by Cardinal Joseph Dominikus von Lamberg . A votive tablet from 1697 indicates that a pilgrimage to St. Laurentius was present. The pilgrimage has ended today.
