Cap is a district of the town of Zehdenick in the Oberhavel district in Brandenburg . The place is located in the Schorfheide , has 195 inhabitants and was incorporated on October 26, 2003. Cap is primarily agricultural, with livestock farming being preferred over grain cultivation.

history

Cap was first mentioned in writing in 1766, at that time still as Cappe. The place was planned as a street village during the Reformation by Frederick the Great and consisted of 50 courtyards at that time. In addition to agriculture and forestry, there was also employment in rafting and shipping in the Döllnfließ . A Schifferverien was founded in 1820. Most of the town burned down in 1873. After the reconstruction, the church and its own village school were built in 1892. In 2003, with the municipal reform, cap became a district of Zehdenick.

Cap village church

The only architectural monument in the area is the Protestant church built in 1892. The church tower was renovated in 2015 thanks to donations, grants and church funds.
