Kaqusha Jashari

Kaqusha Jashari ( Serbo-Croatian  Каћуша Јашари / Kaćuša Jašari , born August 16, 1946 in Srbica , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar and former Yugoslav politician.

Life

She completed a technical degree and worked, among other things, as a teacher before she became a full-time functionary in the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia from 1975 . From 1987 she was chairman of the Executive Council of the Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo . In November 1988, she and the President of SAP Kosovo, Azem Vllasi , were deposed by Slobodan Milošević because they refused to abolish the autonomy of the province.

Afterwards she worked in the road administration of Kosovo as well as in a private company. She has been a member of the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo since the early 1990s , and became its chairman in 2000 as the successor to Besim Bokshi . Since 2007 she has been a member of the parliament of Kosovo , for which she was a candidate on the list of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (her party declined to run independently). The party chairmanship of the Social Democrats took over in 2008 Agim Çeku , while Kaqusha Jashari became chairwoman of the social democratic women's organization.

She is married and has two kids.
