Karaba is an instrumental neo- krautrock and jazz rock band from Munich .

Founding members are Andreas Kainz, Marcel Maier, Louis Bankavs and Jakob Graf von Thun and Hohenstein. It has been heavily influenced by the herb and world music formation Embryo since its inception and shares some of its members. Stylistically, the band moves between progressive rock , jazz rock , the early psychedelic rock of the 60s and 70s and has strong influences from Canterbury bands such as B. Soft Machine . The band released the first two music albums as in-house productions. In 2019 she gained international attention on the compilation Kraut Jazz & Futurism by Mathias Modica with the title Der Inder .

The feature film The Measure by director Alexander Costea contains music by Karaba.
