Alexander Costea

Alexander Costea (* 1982 in Deva , Romania ) is a Romanian-German director , screenwriter and dramaturge .

Life

Alexander Costea was born in Deva, Romania in 1982. He spent his youth in Bavaria , where he also passed his Abitur in 2003. He spent the next two years in various positions in the film business. In 2005 he finally began studying film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich . During his studies he began as a lecturer, screenwriter and dramaturge for German film and television productions. In 2012 he and Miriam Märk received the award for the best medium-length film for his short film Dreimaldrausen .

2015 his final film was released The measure , which on 28 June 2015 at the Munich Film Festival premiered. Shot with the support of ARD and originally conceived for the cinema, the film was only shown at a few other festivals, including the Festival of German Films and the Montreal World Film Festival . With this film, Costea won the Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award in the screenplay category in 2016 and was nominated for the First Steps Award .

In 2017 he wrote the script for the film Luna .

Alexander Costea lives and works in Munich.
