The Karamete Point (from Japanese か ら め て 岬 Karamete-misaki , German 'back door cape ' ) is a headland on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . On the east coast of the Riiser-Larsen Peninsula , it is immediately east of the Kita-karamete rock .
The name was given in 1973 by the headquarters of Japanese Antarctic Research after exploring the area by Japanese researchers. The American Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1975.
