The Karachunivka Reservoir ( Ukrainian Карачунівське водосховище ; Russian Карачуновское водохранилище ) is a reservoir on the 539 km long Inhulez , a tributary of the Dnepr River in the center of Ukraine .

The Karachunivka Reservoir is located in the west of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in Kryvyi Rih district, west of the city of Kryvyi Rih .

It covers an area of 26.9 km² and comprises 308.5 million m³ of water. The length is 35 km with an average width of 1.28 km and a maximum width of more than 3 km. The length of the coastline is 43 km and the average depth is 6.88 m. At the deepest point the water has a depth of 19.1 m. The length of the dam is 205 m.

The construction of the reservoir was commissioned in 1932–1938 and completed in 1954–1958. It serves as a drinking water supply for Krywyj Rih and as a local recreation area. The sewage treatment plants on its banks can purify up to 200,000 cubic meters of water per day. The name is derived from the village of Karachunivka , located west of Kriwyj Rih and submerged in the reservoir .

The tributaries of the lake are the Inhulez, the 74 km long Bokowa and the 59 km long Bokowenka (Ukrainian Боковенька ). To the east of the reservoir, the Saksahan flows into the Inhulez at Krywyj Rih, which is dammed further upstream to the Iskriwka reservoir .
