Karen Young (* 1. January 1946 in Sheffield , Yorkshire ) is a British folk - singer , by the vocal group The Bachelors was discovered. Between 1966 and 1970 there were various single releases, of which only Nobody's Child achieved a hit parade listing. The song rose to position 6 on the UK charts in 1969 . Young performed in various clubs until 1974 and then left the music business .
