Kari Rose Johnson (born June 11, 1992 ), better known under the stage name Kari Faux , is an American rapper , singer-songwriter and music producer .

biography

The daughter of an unmarried minor was adopted and grew up in Little Rock , Arkansas . After high school, she went to Atlanta , Georgia , where she studied audio engineering. However, she dropped out and returned home.

In 2011, Kari Faux began publishing rap songs on the Internet. Her first song, Fauxty Miles per Hour, was followed by a series of mixtapes . Laugh Now, Die Later brought her breakthrough in 2014. Childish Gambino offered her his collaboration, and Faux went to Los Angeles with her boyfriend Malik Flint . The 2015 single Nada was followed by the debut album Lost En Los Angeles in the same year .

In addition to guest appearances at Childish Gambino and Chloe x Halle , Faux released the EPs Primary (2017) and Cry 4 Help (2019) in the following years .
