Kari Ukkonen

Kari Ukkonen (born February 19, 1961 in Kuopio ) is a former Finnish football player .

Career

Ukkonen, who filled the position of Libero , began his career in his hometown with Kuopion PS . He played here from 1979 to 1982 before moving to Belgium to Cercle Bruges , where he would play for the next four years and in 1985 he won the Belgian Cup for the first time. He then played one season for SC Lokeren . In 1987 RSC Anderlecht signed him . Here he won the next cup in 1988 and 1989. In 1991 he went to Royal Antwerp , with whom he celebrated his fourth Belgian cup success in 1992. In 1993 he moved to France to LB Châteauroux , where he ended his career in 1996.

Ukkonen also played 53 full internationals for Finland , in which he scored four goals.
