Karin Pranghofer
Karin Pranghofer (born October 22, 1951 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1998 to 2013 . She ran for the Aschaffenburg-West district.
Life
After completing secondary school, Karin Pranghofer completed her advanced technical college entrance qualification via the second educational path . She completed her studies at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and graduated as a social worker . She then worked as an educational aid in a youth welfare office and later at a primary school in Babenhausen ( Hesse ). Motivated by her parents who were active in a union, Karin Pranghofer became a member of the union and the SPD at an early age. She has been a city councilor in Aschaffenburg since 1984 and was chairwoman of the SPD city council group from 1990 until she was elected to the state parliament in 1998. She is involved with the Friends of Nature, is the chairman of a support association in a senior citizens' home, member of the Café-Sozial association with advice centers for the unemployed in Lower Main in Bavaria, founder and partner of the structural change and qualification society in Aschaffenburg and member of the prison advisory board.

Karin Pranghofer joined the SPD in 1970 and was sub-district chairwoman of the SPD Aschaffenburg from 2002 to 2010. She has been a member of the Aschaffenburg city council since 1984 and was chairwoman of the parliamentary group there from 1990 until she entered state politics. In 1998 she was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament and since then has been a member of the Committee for Education, Youth and Sport. For the state elections in Bavaria in 2008 , she stood in the constituency Aschaffenburg-West ( constituency Lower Franconia ) for election for her party and was re-elected. In 2013 she left the state parliament.
One of the main focuses of her political work is a fair school system, which she is committed to implementing. As a member of the committee, she was intensively involved in the community school project that the Bavarian SPD parliamentary group presented to the public in May 2011.
