Karin de Fleyt (* 1972 in Gent ) is a Belgian flautist.

De Fleyt studied flute with Eric De Queker and Philippe Benoit and contemporary music with Godfried-Willem Raes at the Ghent Royal Conservatory . She completed her postgraduate studies at the Orpheus Instituut Gent until 2001 . She specialized in contemporary music and in 1999 studied with Kathinka Pasveer the compositional work of Karlheinz Stockhausen for flute. Her repertoire also includes works u. a. by Salvatore Sciarrino , Kaija Saariaho , Jean-Claude Risset , Roberto Doati , Agostino Di Scipio , Jan van Vlijmen, Jonathan Hervey , Brian Ferneyhough , Godfried-Willem Raes, Zachar Laskewicz , Pedro Rivadeneira , Brent Wetters , Joachim Brackx , Annelies Van Parijs , Wim Henderickx , Karlheinz Essl and Hanne Deneire .

She appeared as a soloist under conductors such as Marco Angius , Koren Kessels , Karlheinz Stockhausen, James Wood , Zsolt Nagy , Clark Rundell , Wolfgang Lischke and Peter Rundel and worked a. a. with the musicians Marco Blaauw , Nicholas Isherwood , Irvine Arditti , Kathinka Pasveer , Suzee Stephens , Mireille Capelle and Roel Dieltjens and in the field of live electronic music with Bryan Wolf , Jean-Baptiste Barrière and Jean-Marc Sulon .

De Fleyt is a flautist and member of the artistic management of the HERMESensemble . As a member of the Stockhausen Trio (with Michele Marelli , clarinet and Marc Maes , synthesizer) she performed parts of the opera cycles Licht und Klang . The Stockhausen Courses in Kürten she received in 1999 for the performance of Flaubert Tina third prize, 2000 Elufa and tongue dance a special prize and in 2001 the second prize for the performance of Ave . Also in 2001 she was a finalist in the International Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition in Rotterdam and became a member of the Champ d'Action Ensemble for New Music.
