Karl-Heinrich Bette
Karl-Heinrich Bette (born June 10, 1952 in Dortmund ) is a German sports scientist . Since 2002 he has been a professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt .
He studied sociology, philosophy and sports science in Cologne, Aachen and Urbana-Champaign . He received his doctorate in 1982 and completed his habilitation in 1988 at the German Sport University in Cologne . From 1992 to 2002 he was Professor of Sports Science at Heidelberg University .
Bettes general work focuses on the sociology of sport and the body as well as the more recent sociological systems theory .
