Karl-Heinz Blomann

Karl-Heinz Blomann (* 1955 in Wanne-Eickel ) is a German musician , composer , alto saxophonist and producer .

Life

Blomann studied at the University of Dortmund pedagogy , later in Duisburg at the Polytechnic Music and at the University of Bochum Theater, Film and Television Studies (TFF).

In 1976 he founded the band Pöhl Musik and in 1983 the music publisher AufRuhr Records , which has since produced around 20 albums by various artists. Pöhl Musik made numerous tours, such as B. through South America, Europe and played 1989 at the Next Wave Festival in New York.

Blomann has produced numerous radio plays, as well as written theater and film music. For the "Sound Sculptures" project, he and Olaf Bruske, Rainer Grund, Birger Kluge and Jörg Peters received the 1989 DGB Culture Prize in 1989.

Since 1997 he has been the artistic director of the festival open systems .

He works in different contexts with ever new concepts on topics such as art and technology, man and machine and urban sound spaces.
