Michael Rodach (* 1957 ) is a German fusion musician ( guitar ) and composer .

Live and act

As a teenager, Rodach was strongly influenced by a television appearance by the Mahavishnu Orchestra . He studied classical music at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Mario Sicca and also jazz at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In the 1980s he worked as a guitarist in Berlin with Friedemann Graef and Herwig Mitteregger ; then he belonged to the Berlin fusion band Die Elefanten , with which he presented several albums (partly produced by Teo Macero ), and then toured with Xiame for seven years . He has also worked in studio and live productions with artists as diverse as Bob Moses , David Moss , Lotti Huber , Tiger Okoshi , Kevin Coyne , Paulo Moura , Geschwister Pfister , Georgette Dee , Perry Robinson and Paul Brody as well as in Robert Wilson's production of Ein Wintermärchen involved in the Berliner Ensemble . He can also be heard on albums by Gebhard Ullmann or Kokoon .

For more than twenty years he has composed compositions primarily for dance theater, film (including Rendezvous by Alexander Schüler ) and radio plays. This resulted in collaboration with filmmakers and choreographers such as Dieter Heitkamp, ​​Claudia Feest, Gayle Tufts , Martha Mason, Helge Musial, Calvan Cole, Roberto Galvan, Lutz Gregor , Helga Reidemeister , Ulla Kösterke, Ulrike Brinkmann and Jürgen Zielinski.
