Helga Reidemeister (born February 4, 1940 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German documentary filmmaker .

Life

Helga Reidemeister graduated from high school in 1959 in Cologne, studied from 1961 to 1965 painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and was then from 1968 to 1973 in the social work involved before 1973-1978 at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin studied . In 1969 their daughter was born; From 1970 Helga Reidemeister lived in a Berlin flat-sharing community to which Rudi Dutschke belonged until his death.

Reidemeister is a lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in the field of documentary film and has been teaching at home and abroad since 1988. She is a member of the German Film Academy and the Lower Saxony Film Commission. and since 2001 member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts .
