Karl-Heinz Löffler (born February 11, 1927 in Themar , † November 5, 2016 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German football player. In the 1950s he played for Turbine Erfurt for seven years in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football . In 1954 and 1955 he was GDR champion.

Athletic career

Löffler joined the upper division BSG Turbine Erfurt in January 1951 after the regular midfielder Hans Birke was out for a long time. He was used for the first time on the 19th match day of the 1950/51 season and played all of the remaining 16 point games by the end of the season. On the 25th matchday, Turbine Erfurt - Motor Dessau (1: 2) scored his first league goal . Löffler was also called up in the decider for the GDR championship in 1951 . This game had become necessary after Turbine Erfurt and BSG Chemie Leipzig were tied at the top of the table at the end of the season. Löffler played right outside runner and lost with his team 0-2. In the 1951/52 season, Löffler and Jochen Müller were the only ones to play all 36 point games. After coach Hans Carl Löffler tried out three games as a right winger, Löffler was then allowed to play again in his regular position in the right midfield. 1952/53 Löffler was able to register for the second time with a league goal in the Erfurt goalscorer list, but was only used 15 of the 32 point games.

In the 1953/54 season, the BSG Turbine Erfurt became GDR football champions for the first time. Löffler was only able to play regularly in the major league again after eleven match days and so came to 20 appearances in 28 rounds of points. Even in the successful title defense in 1954/55, in which the Erfurt team started as the Turbine sports club from November 1954, Löffler only took part in some of the point games. He was a regular member of the team until the eighth match day, after which he was only called up irregularly, again and again with longer breaks.

When a transition round with 13 games to change the calendar year rhythm of the seasons was played in the fall of 1955, Löffler was not part of the regular team with his six missions (two as substitutes). It was not until 1956 that Löffler found his way back to his previous form and was able to play 23 of the 26 point games from the start of the season. At the age of 30, he went into his seventh league season in 1957. He managed to complete all 26 point games, in which he was always used in his regular position in the right midfield. After the end of the season, Löffler ended his career in performance-related football. From 1951 to 1957 he had played 151 championship games and scored two goals.

Before the Wall was built, Löffler moved to Munich for professional reasons, where he was briefly active for TSV 1860 Munich .
