Karl-Heinz Mursch

Karl-Heinz Mursch (born September 25, 1911 in Krotoschin ; † June 13, 2002 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1930, Mursch joined the Reichsmarine and went through officer training there. As a corvette captain of the Kriegsmarine he took part in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945 . He was most recently taken prisoner by the British, from which he was released in 1945.

Mursch initially worked as a consultant for the German mine clearance service, later became a department head in a wholesaler in Hamburg and worked for the Hamburg Maritime Administration from 1946 to 1949. He then moved to the Federal Ministry of Transport as an official . Here he acted, among other things, as personal advisor and press officer to the Federal Minister of Transport, Hans-Christoph Seebohm . In 1969 he resigned from the civil service as a ministerial advisor.

Mursch was elected to the German Bundestag in the 1969 Bundestag election, to which he was a member until 1976. In parliament he represented the constituency of Harburg - Soltau . He was also a member of the European Parliament from 1973 to 1977 .
