from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karl-Heinz Stapper (* 1955 in Emsdetten ) is a German painter and designer . His main theme is figurative painting. As a designer he works in the field of architectural design.

Life

From 1977 to 1981 Stapper studied object design at the Münster University of Applied Sciences . In 1982 he worked as a freelancer for Joseph Beuys at Documenta 7 in Kassel and designed the paper bag 7000 oak / artificial fertilizer (Edition Staeck, Heidelberg / catalog raisonné Joseph Beuys - Multiples / Schellmann. Munich).

Karl-Heinz Stapper has lived and worked in Cologne since 1987 . Starting with figurative and expressive painting in the 1980s, Stapper reduced his painting to photographic-realistic motifs from the early 1990s and implemented them with painterly means. In doing so, he often makes references to classic nude and landscape painting as well as to everyday history.

In the tradition of the former craft art schools and the Bauhaus , Stapper works primarily as an object designer after completing his studies in the applied art field.
