PSA Women's World Tour Finals
The PSA World Tour Finals for Women (formerly World Series Finals ) is a squash tournament that is played at the end of each season of the PSA World Tour for Women . The eight best players of the current season qualify and play for the title.
history
The tournament was held for the first time in 1998 under the name World Grand Prix Finals . Hurghada was the venue from 1998 to 2001 before the tournament moved to Doha for three years . The last event initially took place in 2004, before it was re-launched in 2012 as World Series Finals . The venue was the Queen's Club in London . The 2012 final was canceled because the venue was no longer available at short notice. There was also no event in 2013. After the WSA was integrated into the PSA, the tournament was renamed World Series Finals . The eight players who had scored the most points in the tournaments with the World Series category qualified. For the 2018/19 season , the final tournament was renamed PSA World Tour Finals , and the qualification mode changed, since it was no longer just the points from the tournaments in the highest rating category that counted, but all world ranking points accumulated over the season.
