The Roman Catholic parish church Horitschon is located in the center of the municipality Horitschon ( Hungarian : Haracsony , Croatian : Haračun ) in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. Margaretha and belongs to the Deutschkreutz deanery . The church is a listed building.

history

Already before 1469 there was an independent parish in Horitschon. The baroque church at the eastern end of the village burned down in 1945. Today's church in the center of the village was built between 1947 and 1949 according to plans by Johann Petermair .

Architecture and equipment

The church is modern. The altarpiece of the former church hangs on the left wall of the nave. It shows Saint Margaret and was painted in the second half of the 18th century. In 1979 the picture was restored. In addition, a bell from 1796 has been preserved. This was cast by Johann Georg Köchel in Ödenburg (today Sopron ).
