Karl-Josef Tanas

Karl-Josef Tanas (born April 24, 1935 - † July 28, 2010 ) was a German football official.

Life

Tanas began his voluntary function in 1955 at his home club TuS Schleiden 08, initially as a youth chairman, later as the club's 2nd chairman. From 1964 on he took over the office of district youth welfare officer in the Schleiden football district and in 1967 that of district youth chairman. After all, he was district chairman from 1971 to 1992.

From 1971 on he was a member of the advisory board of the Mittelrhein Football Association (FVM) and since 1977 its presidium. In 1992 he succeeded Egidius Braun as President of the FV Mittelrhein and remained in office until 2007. In 1993 he was also elected Vice President of the West German Football and Athletics Association (WFLV) and was Vice President of the German Football Association (DFB) from 2001 to 2007 .

After leaving the DFB Presidium, he became a board member of the DFB Cultural Foundation in 2007 . During the 2006 World Cup in Germany, he was head of the Cologne venue.
