Karl-Ludwig von Klitzing , also Carl Ludwig von Klitzing , (* 1942 in Pomerania ) is a German doctor in Frankfurt (Oder) and a local politician .

family

He comes from the old medieval noble family Klitzing , which was first mentioned in 1265. His cousin is the Nobel Prize winner Klaus von Klitzing .

Life

As a refugee, Klitzing came to Waren / Müritz ( district of Waren ) with his family . Von Klitzing has seven siblings. He studied at the Humboldt University of Berlin medicine and went after graduation for a short time after Müllrose in the sanatorium .

Since 1969 he has been working as a senior physician, internist and pulmonologist at the Frankfurt (Oder) Clinic. He has been practicing as a resident doctor since 1990.

On November 1, 1989, he gave his speech “Our Land” on the Brunnenplatz in Frankfurt, which 15 years later was still considered outstanding in Frankfurt / Oder. In it he spoke out against the destruction of the country and for freedom of thought .
