Karl Attenhofer (lawyer)

Karl Attenhofer (born February 28, 1836 in Sursee , † October 10, 1906 in Lausanne , Catholic , resident in Sursee) was a Swiss lawyer and federal judge .

Life

Karl Attenhofer was born on February 28, 1836 in Sursee as the son of the doctor Karl Attenhofer senior and Anna Maria née Beck. He studied law at the universities of Munich and Heidelberg , which he obtained with the academic degree of Dr. iur. completed.

As a result, Attenhofer headed a law firm in Sursee, before joining the higher court of the canton of Lucerne in 1871 , where he was president from 1883 to 1893. Subsequently, he served as a federal judge from 1893 to 1906. He belonged to the conservative leadership that prepared the change of power in 1871 at canton level.

Karl Attenhofer, who was married to Walther, born Carolina Maria, died on October 10, 1906, a few months before he would turn 71 in Lausanne.
