Karl August Geimer

Karl August Geimer (born February 14, 1943 in Brücken , Pfalz ) is a German former CDU politician .

Career

Geimer attended the state high school in Speyer , which he left with the Abitur. After he passed his state examination at the University of Education in Saarland in 1968 , he worked as a teacher.

Geimer has a son.

In 1969 Geimer joined the CDU, of which he was district chairman for almost twenty years. In 1969 he moved into the municipal council in Brücken for the first time, and from 1974 to 1994 he was the local mayor. In addition, he was also a member of the council of the community of Schönenberg-Kübelberg and the district council and district committee of the district of Kusel . In 1975 Geimer was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for the first time , to which he belonged until 2001. In 1994 he was also a member of the 10th Federal Assembly , which Roman Herzog elected Federal President .
