The Verbandsgemeinde Schönenberg-Kübelberg was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional body in the district of Kusel in Rhineland-Palatinate . The association community consisted of seven independent local communities , the administrative seat was in the eponymous local community Schönenberg-Kübelberg .
On January 1, 2017, the community of Schönenberg-Kübelberg was dissolved, the associated communities were assigned to the new community of Upper Glantal .

Association municipal council
The local council Schoenberg Kübelberg consisted of 28 honorary council members, who in the local elections on May 25, 2014 in a personalized proportional representation were elected, and the full-time mayor Karl-Heinz Schoon as chairman.

traffic
From 1904, the Glantalbahn ran through the area of the former municipality . Passenger traffic ended in 1981, freight traffic to Schönenberg-Kübelberg station lasted until 1989. In the meantime, the railway line has been dismantled within the area of the former municipality; the route has served the Glan-Blies-Weg since the 2000s .
