Karl Aulitzky (classical philologist)
Karl Franz Joseph Aulitzky (born August 12, 1891 in Vienna ; † 1945 ) was an Austrian classical philologist and high school teacher.
Life
Aulitzky studied in Vienna Classical Philology and was in on 11 July 1917 Ludwig Radermacher with the work Quibus ex fontibus fluxerint, quae Apsines de commiseratione praecipit doctorate . He then taught at the Bundesgymnasium Vienna V, where he was appointed professor.
From 1938 to 1945 he was director of the Fichtnergasse grammar school in the Hietzing district , temporarily deployed in the uniform of a political director . At the end of the war he was drafted into the Volkssturm , was taken prisoner by the Soviets and was reported missing.
Karl Aulitzky was married to the philosopher Ida Demetz (1883–1960). Their son Herbert Aulitzky (1922–2012) was professor for torrent and avalanche control at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna .
