Karl Berger , also Karli Berger (born March 19, 1953 in Leoben ), is an Austrian cartoonist , comic artist and graphic artist. He lives in Vienna .

Karl Berger grew up in Vienna, where he attended compulsory school and then the commercial graphics department of the Höhere Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt . In 1974 he had his first exhibition of cartoons in a youth club, after which he exhibited a lot. Drawings have appeared in Kurier (Comic Lapaazuli, text Erich L. Nussbaumer), in the Kronen Zeitung (Comics Kottan, text: Helmut Zenker , Friedl Freak, news from the Insider editorial team), golfrevue, Die Arbeit, Jung-Österreich, Profit and extra sheet . To the book "Wienerlied - frisch green" (1990) by the author Reinhard Wegerthhe contributed 13 cartoons. He was a cartoonist and cartoonist of the Volksstimme from the early 1980s until hiring . From 1986 to 1990 Berger worked as a graphic designer for the Communist Party of Austria and designed all its advertising material during this time. Starting in 1993, Berger designed the golfrevue for 24 years and has been working on the Vienna street newspaper Augustin since 1998 . Regular publication on Facebook in recent years, especially critical of the right-wing conservative ÖVP / FPÖ government. Some of his drawings also appear on the blog kontrast.at.
