Karl Cart (born May 15, 1906 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † August 14, 1988 in Vienna, Austria ) was an Austrian national soccer player .

Career

Karl Cart, a paint mixer by profession, began his football career at the Simmeringer Klub SC Vorwärts XI , where he mostly played as a striker. Only when he came to the first division club 1. Simmeringer SC in 1924 and had to step in for an injured goalkeeper in his youth was his regular position found. Although the Simmeringer team with Rudi Aigner already had the Austrian national goal in their own goal, when he was injured, Karl Cart replaced him not only in the first division , but also in the international match against Hungary on September 19, 1926 .

Ultimately, Karl Cart moved to SC Wacker Wien in Meidling in 1927 , for whom he guarded the goal for the next nine years in the I. League. The best results in the championship with the small district club was a fourth place in 1927/28 and 1934/35 . Finally, Karl Cart returned to the 1st Simmeringer SC in 1936, who at that time only played in the 2nd division.
