Karl Eckert (politician, 1895)

Karl Eckert (born March 7, 1895 in Pyritz , † after 1935) was a German theologian and politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

Eckert attended the Humanist Gymnasium, was then drafted into military service and from 1914 to 1918 took part in the First World War as a soldier in the Reserve Field Artillery Regiment No. 45 . He was deployed on the Western Front, promoted to officer in 1916 and seriously wounded in the same year. During the war he was awarded the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd class and the Wound Badge (black version). In 1919 he retired from military service and began studying theology. From 1923 he worked as a Protestant pastor in Schwachenwalde . In addition, he acted as parliamentary group leader of the German Christians at the National Synod in Weimar . In 1935 he was appointed senior consistorial councilor.

Eckert joined the NSDAP, became district leader of the party in Arnswalde and was Gau propaganda leader for the Mark Brandenburg . In 1932 he was elected to the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until its dissolution in October 1933.
