Karl Eduard Arnd
Karl Eduard Arnd (born February 23, 1802 in Wągrowiec , † September 3, 1874 in Charlottenburg ) was a German historian.
Life
Arnd studied at the Universities of Breslau and Berlin and lived in Paris for a while during the 1840s after traveling for a long time . He later settled in Berlin and died there at the age of 72 on September 3, 1874 in Charlottenburg.
reception
Arnd began his literary work with tragedies, which were mostly adaptations or adaptations of already known works. William Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen from Verona , who was the godfather of Arnd's The Two Nobles in Venice , is an example .
Arnd wrote a sequel for the world history for children and child teachers of the pedagogue Karl Friedrich Becker , from the French Revolution to the present (1871); The content and style of this sequel, however, did not match the quality of the original work.
