Karl Egli
Karl Egli (born July 23, 1865 in Tettnang , Germany; † June 11, 1925 in Zurich ; resident in Gossau ) was a Swiss general staff officer .
Egli completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller and later worked from 1892 to 1902 as an instruction officer in the Swiss Army . He made a name for himself as a military publicist at an early age . From 1903 to 1905 he was a military teacher at the Central School in Thun . From 1905 he headed the geographic section of the General Staff . In 1916 he was removed from his position by the Federal Council as a result of the Obersten affair . From 1916 to 1918 he was a lecturer in military science at the University of Basel . From 1918 he worked as a bookseller and publisher in Zurich.
