Karl Eichinger (pianist)

Karl Eichinger (* 1965 in Zwettl , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian pianist .

Life

After graduating from high school, Karl Eichinger studied piano with Viktor Teuflmayr at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . He concluded his studies with a concert diploma and a master’s degree.

He then studied piano concert with Franz Zettl at what is now the private university of the Vienna Conservatory . Master classes with Oleg Maisenberg, Rudolf Kehrer and Robert Lehrbaumer followed.

Karl Eichinger works as a soloist, chamber musician and répétiteur . He also gives numerous piano recitals (including as part of the Jeunesse Musicale , the Carinthian Summer Ossiach, the Salzkammergut Mozart Festival , the international chamber music festival Austria Allegro Vivo , the St. Pölten Festival).

He is also a pianist with the ensemble “Wiener Instrumentalsolisten” (Vienna Symphony Virtuosi). He gives concerts at home and abroad, u. a. at the Bregenz Festival , the Vienna Festival Weeks , the KlangBogen Wien , the Mozart Festival Salzkammergut, the St. Paul Cultural Summer, the Traismauer Cultural Summer, the Carinthian Summer Ossiach, the Millstatt Music Weeks, the St. Pölten Festival Weeks and Baroque Festival, the Stams Music Weeks and the Langenargen Music Weeks. He toured Canada, France, Spain, USA, Asia, Israel, Romania, Egypt, Slovakia, China, Poland, South Africa and Germany. He has appeared as a soloist with the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria , the Dornbirn Youth Symphony Orchestra and the St. Pölten Musikverein Orchestra .

Karl Eichinger worked with Hans Gansch, Josef Steinböck, Gertrude Jahn, Peter Wesenauer, Peter Matic, Guntram Simma, Maria Hauser and Ildika Raimondi.

Since 1993 he has been working as a piano teacher at the Bundesrealgymnasium and Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium St. Pölten. After the death of the founder and longtime director, Helmut Ascherl, Karl Eichinger took over the management of the Viennese instrumental soloists in 2013.
