Karl Eisenhofer (born September 4, 1934 ; † January 1, 2000 ) was a German goalkeeper who played for Eintracht Frankfurt from 1962 to 1965 and played two Bundesliga games in the first season of the Bundesliga , 1963/64. Before that he had played 63 league games from 1959 to 1962 at FSV Frankfurt in what was then the first-class football league south .

career

Until 1959, the goalkeeper in Offenbach 's Bieber district belonged to the local amateur club Germania Bieber . From the "yellow shirts" from the district of Bieber-Waldhof he moved to the 1959/60 round in the football league south for FSV Frankfurt . He made his debut in the league under coach Ludwig Janda on matchday 13 of the preliminary round, on November 29, 1959, in a 5-3 away win against Bayern Hof. The regular goalkeeper in this round was Karlheinz Leichum , Eisenhofer made six appearances at FSV and the Bornheimers took ninth place with goal scorer Berthold Buchenau (20 goals). In the following two rounds, the man from Bieber advanced to the goalkeeper of the team from the stadium on Bornheimer Hang . While he was missing in three league games in 1960/61, he completed all 30 round games for FSV Frankfurt in 1961/62. While the Bornheimers were able to assert themselves in the two local derbies against Eintracht with 1: 1 and 2: 4 with respectable results in 1960/61, the difference in performance in 1961/62 was very clear: With 0: 5 and 0: 4, the two became Lost games against the local number one. With the 30th matchday, April 15, 1962, in a 0-1 away defeat at FC Bayern Hof, Eisenhofer said goodbye with teammates such as Gerd Menne , Werner Niebel , Rudolf Stracke and Friedel Späth with the FSV from the Oberliga Süd. As the penultimate, the Bornheimer were relegated from the league and Eisenhofer, after a total of 63 league appearances at the FSV, accepted the offer from Eintracht Frankfurt and moved to the Riederwald.

Egon Loy was the clear number one at Eintracht and Eisenhofer did not play any further in the last year of the old top division, 1962/63, under coach Paul Oßwald . In the debut year of the Bundesliga, 1963/64, he made two appearances in the Bundesliga on September 21 and October 26, 1963. On the fifth matchday he won the home game against Eintracht Braunschweig with Eintracht Braunschweig with 3-0 and on the ninth matchday the away match at Hertha BSC with 3-1 goals. In the round of 16 of the DFB Cup 1963/64 , on April 22, 1964, he guarded the Eintracht goal in a 6-1 home win against KSV Hessen Kassel. When Eintracht lost the cup final against 1860 Munich with 0-2 goals in Stuttgart on June 13, 1964, Egon Loy was back in goal. After the end of the round, Eisenhofer took part in the South Africa trip with games in Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban Addington FC, Johannesburg Highland Parks, Arcadia United Pretoria and Windhoek.

Since Loy also completed all 30 league games for Eintracht under coach Ivica Horvath in 1964/65 and Peter Kunter was a new goalkeeper for the new round, he returned to his home club Germania Bieber for the round in 1965/66.
