Karl Rupert Fall (* around 1950) is a German development worker .

Career

Fall comes from Ingolstadt . He studied horticultural engineering , graduated as a horticultural engineer and has been working as a development worker in Asia since 1978. After working in Laos , Vietnam and Tonga , he has been project manager for Welthungerhilfe in North Korea since 2003 .

Initially, he helped to reduce the chronic food shortage of over 120,000 people with the construction of greenhouses, with training for farmers and the introduction of more efficient cultivation methods. In 2007 he changed the strategy and promoted the construction of optimized storage facilities for seeds in Unsan and in the south of Pyongyang , with which the earnings situation could be significantly improved. In addition, greenhouses were built on the outskirts of Pyongyang, with mud walls on the north side storing the sun's heat during the day and releasing it at night, because the greenhouses cannot be heated otherwise due to a lack of energy. The plants are fertilized by an irrigation system from the excrement of carp and catfish, from whose water basins it is fed. The fish are fed silkworms, which are fed on the leaves of trees.
