Karl Feßler

Karl Fessler (* 1931/32 in Bad Waldsee , † 6. August 2010 ) was a German politician of the CDU . He was the first mayor of Filderstadt and chairman of the municipal reform from 1975 to 1983.

Feßler studied law and political science and passed his exam in Tübingen . Professional stations afterwards were the state insurance institute, the high school authority North Württemberg and the social and health department of the city of Stuttgart . On June 22, 1975 Feßler was elected First Mayor in the second ballot, and from June 18, 1976 he was the first Lord Mayor of Filderstadt. In 1983 he lost the mayoral election against Peter Bümlein . He remained loyal to politics and was represented in the district council from 1979 to 1994. He also worked as a lawyer .

Feßler died at the age of 78 after a brief, serious illness.
