Karl Ferber (born December 3, 1923 in Mechernich , † after 1957) was a German football player .
career
The half-forward began his career with the amateur clubs TuS Mechernich and SG Eschweiler . In the turmoil of the Second World War he was under contract with Gauligist Mülheimer SV 06 , but the game operation soon succumbed. After the end of the war, Karl Ferber joined the FSV Frankfurt in 1946 , which played in the football league south . In his first year, the offensive man did not appear until the end of the season, he scored his only goal on the last day of the game in a 2-0 win against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 . 1947/48 was his most successful sporting season in Frankfurt, with the FSV he finished seventh in the top division. Ferber scored twelve goals in 36 games, including a hat trick in the 4-0 win against Sportfreunde Stuttgart . The following season was not very satisfactory for the club with twelfth place, Karl Ferber completed all games, but scored only one goal. In 1949 he moved to Alemannia Aachen in the Oberliga West, where he was active until 1952. Also with Alemannia he played primarily against relegation in these three years, in his first season 1949/50 Ferber played all league games again and scored four goals, in the following season there were 29 games (five goals). From 1952 to 1955 he played for Eintracht Trier in the Oberliga Südwest and from 1955 to 1957 Ferber was still hunting for goals for VfL Trier in the 2nd Oberliga Südwest , the second highest division at the time.
