Karl Friedrich Mende

Karl Friedrich Mende (born January 5, 1721 in Freiberg ; † 1787 ) was a German Protestant preacher .

Life

Karl Friedrich Mende studied in Leipzig and from 1751 worked as a preacher in Geringswalde . From 1762 he preached as a pastor in Altleisnig and Tragnitz in the Kingdom of Saxony . Mende published sacred poems that were already considered prosaic, sluggish and powerless by contemporaries. Today his works are largely forgotten.
