Karl Gerhardt (State Syndic)

Karl Gerhardt (born November 8, 1864 in Schneidemühl , † July 9, 1939 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

After Karl Gerhardt graduated from high school in Berlin in 1883, he studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . He became active in the Corps Teutonia Bonn (1882) and the Corps Rhenania Bonn (1885). After completing his studies, he became a trainee lawyer in Berlin in 1887 and an assessor in 1892. In 1894 he was appointed state assessor and in 1897 regional councilor in the administration of the province of Brandenburg. In 1903 he became an unskilled worker at the Brandenburg Provincial Association . The Brandenburg Provincial Parliament elected Gerhardt in 1907 as state syndic and deputy to the state director of the province of Brandenburg . Since 1920 director of the state insurance company Brandenburg , he retired in 1930. Since 1893 he was married to Margarete Fockin , with whom he had four sons and three daughters.

Karl Gerhardt died in Berlin in 1939 at the age of 74. He was buried in the Zehlendorf cemetery . The grave has not been preserved.
