Karl Hans Neumann (born May 13, 1922 in Groß-Aupa ; † August 4, 1993 in Leonberg ) was a German architect. Some modern church buildings stand out from his work.

Life

He attended grammar school and the higher forest school in Reichstadt , where he passed a subject-specific school leaving examination in 1940. From 1940 to 1945 he was in the Air Force. In the last year of the war he was seriously wounded and remained in the hospital until 1948. He then completed a civil engineering degree in Würzburg until 1951 , then a postgraduate degree in architecture with Sep Ruf and Friedel Steinmeyer in Nuremberg and Munich until 1954 . In 1954 he married Marianne Dannenberger. In the following year he opened architectural offices in Stuttgart and Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . In the following 35 years he was busy building. One focus of his planning was on churches, schools and administrative buildings in southwest Germany. The artist Gerhard Tagwerker was involved in the artistic design of many of his buildings . From 1988 Neumann worked in an office partnership with Werner Knopp , with whom he carried out several larger projects before he retired from professional life in 1990 for health reasons.
