Karl Hechler

Karl Ludwig Hechler (born February 22, 1840 in Bretzenheim , † July 5, 1898 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant, politician ( NLP ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Karl Hechler was the son of the cadastral geometer and tax adviser Johann Hechler and his wife Elisabeth, née Lilienfein. Hechler, who was a Protestant, married Elisabeth Karoline Lilly, née Binzer (1846–1881).

Hechler became a financial advisor in Bretzenheim, in 1870 a district holder in Homberg and in 1873 a tax controller. In 1882 he switched to the fire insurance commission in Darmstadt as secretary, where he became a member and councilor in 1886, government councilor in 1892 and chairman in 1897. At the same time he received the title of a Secret Government Council and a Secret Finance Council.

From 1884 to 1898 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 13 / Griesheim .
